Daylight saving time might be the most stupid thing any politician has invented, ever.

You can't even use a compass and a sundial to check your time.
Even the local time has it's problems. Moving men and data across time zones means they get 'wrong' time.
The best thing might be to use UTC time with a character 'z' in the end telling it is UTC: 2009-09-02 06:52:31z.
The final solution might be some kind of local time with reference to timezone, if needed (2009-09-02 06:52:31 +2),
